It is same to say ‘Bhutanese community’ living in States or any other place because whenever you all organize programs and concerts there is no (not at all) flavor of Bhutan and Bhutanese, mustn’t you organize ‘The Real Bhutanese’ concerts and programs during gathering? you all looked like you have bought cultural styles and tradition of third country like Nepal and branding it Bhutanese, it is a pretty sure same on you leaders.
Remember if you think you are ‘A Bhutanese in Exile’ then avoid such foreign tactics and cultural commitment. After all let me tell you frankly your success rate of motivation looked vague unless you are looking for personal gain and not for community as a whole…. So leaders, this message is for you…. live and let live.. this is a simple way of putting things in place and in right place…

After going through the unwanted comments, I would rather say anybody living in States as ‘lost Bhutanese’ should just work for daily bread and focus on making family happy. Once you loose your love ones in family then you cannot mend and will be destroyed foe ever.
Politics is the dirtiest job I can ever and rightly say. if you are really in politics you will have to leave your wife and children because they will not need you.

I did like the article really much, was really informative and the best part was that only the required part was elaborated, to the point concise information always helps and keeps readers running around digging for the information’s will never require a reread. Well Guys,
I just look at it all and think when it is really cool. Bhotangy please keep your head up. You are not to worry because you mean good.
Now you have been badly treated by the government of Bhutan pushed out of Bhutan as it happened to many Sarchops in the 1950s. Agreed it is painful but let me tell you to look at life from a more practical point of view and what is important today.
I have been to the west many times both during my education at Stanford and later while in business. I know that America has made the right choice in resettling our evicted Lhotsampas and Sarchops.
The United States is a stock house of all knowledge and technology hitherto dveloped in human history. The task is still continuing.
I grew up with my friends from the south and east. I travelled to their homes, spent winter vacations with them- thressing the paddy, picking the oranges, getting the cardomon ready for export. Chuka was not in operation then nor the other companies like BCCL or BBPL. FCB was the sole collector of all the produce from the south that earned a substantial part of National Income. Lhotashampas had talents and visions other wise they would not have established such large plantations some 50 years before when the government had thought of Development Plans. Food production continued to increase since the earliest Lhotshampas came to Bhutan in the 17th century (1624 precisely) under the auspicious guidance of Zabdrung. You guys greatly contrbuted in the costruction of Dzongs, terracing one of the most challenging landscapes to highly productive fields and kept Bhutan’s environment pristine by discouraging the chemical fertilizers. You guys wanted organic.
Look at your own food- most of you are vegetarian. You don’t drink alcohol. I drank alcohol in my house in the north but never had any desire when I passed my winter holidays in the south eating vegetarian food and enjoying tea instead of (aara) alcohol.
You know of conservation. You know of bioengineering and you have that special skill to tolerate the hardships. So make best use of it in the New land you have arived.
I’ll tell you the truth. The government was rude-extremely rude. It was becasue the king himself was misguided ( ill-advised ) and I don’t need to tell you who did it so. Those who forced Sherubtse College and all other libraries in Bhutan to remove every book on Political Science and discourses on Democracy are fighting for power and positions now . This is the irony.
Bhutan desperatley needs 3000 engineers, several thousand nurses and doctors. It needs bioengineering in several places. The Government is inviting catastrophe by just getting big projects started without considering the consequences. Imported labour will cause more damage than even imagined. Bhutansese need to be in Bhutan at the moment as it happened in the Sixties and the Seventies when roads were constructed, Dzongs repaired and schools started. Bhutan actually misses you as you miss Bhutan.
Remember- it is time to evaluate your own skills now.
Let me not linger in the lyricism but come the point. You guys are used to building-not skyscrapers but beautiful settlements. You developed the Southern part of Bhutan. Just imagine how much work you did in Nepal as refugees. I have travelled that way many times and seen the growth. Now my sincere advice my (chharos), begin building yourself in America.
One of my friends from the Southern Bhutan taught me how to make ink and bandages from (khenpa sing) they call it tete pati. It is best- organic and effective. Save the soyabeans for the children . Why don’t those who have the skills take up organic farming. Let the young people go to school. You start. I like to talk more but I might look like a sympathiser.
I tell you the reality because you will eeventually be needed by a much larger community than the Bhutanese Population. Feel free to share. Good wishes from Thimpu. Tashi Delek.

Dear chettri,
when i go through you comments it sound like yu are also one member of basco.You know one thing if any one try to do better for the comminuty i mean if he thinks to do something for tyhe comunnity he will never blame other.That’s bull shit.In fact this is the nepali tradition.(i mean khutta tanney).You know one saying goes-”AAfu pani nagarne aaru lai pane garnu nadine” i think we have to leave this better help each other but i don’t think basco is formed for the community coz’ mr. chhetri your comment is clear that you are trying to make people go against BACC.
So i think mr. chettri if you are really coming forward to help community the firstly you change you thinking and then come ahead.And one this i came here in california like almost a year.I never heard that you people have formed basco nor i heard that you guys are working to formed different party.How comes that 3 years.Please i want to say one thing we people are not like our father’s are grand father okay.Do not think that you have spend several years in usa and you only know every thing right here.You know barking dog seldom bite.So k vanney janne bujne goru manchey lai mero sabda kosh ko sabda nai vatena la la

I had another chance to look at the comments. And it is so very cheap, immature meand and hell bent to cut each other. All I ask of you is try to look at the mirror and ask yourself the worth of living an honest life. I am trying my best through BASCO which is formed after 3 years of waiting for the other organization to do someting. But alas! the orgnization formed in a hide and seek manner by three people by ambushing other’s project proposal, seem to have run out of borrowed ideas and now started the copycat business to duplicate what we are doing. How long do you think the borrowed ideas last???????????????????????
